I have peeled the chrome off and was trying to decide what would look better, painting the outer edge the same color as the car (Black) or re-chroming. What do you guys think and if anybody has a pick of a painted one, I would love to see!!

Before I spend $89 I'd like to see what it looks like myself.

Real chrome will never replace those "paint on" chrome finish ever... except for a show car you'll never drive or touch

I don't have any pics but it's the same stuff 50 Cent (the rapper) Lamborghini was painted with several years back. I painted a fiberglass Challenger bumper with it several years ago and like I said you could not tell the difference from a real chrome bumper, Automakers use the same type of chrome system on their plastic chrome center caps for their wheels and other plastic interior pieces that need to be chromed.

yes they look maybe GREAT... but... how they last long? they are being used on areas with lot of friction or daily cars?... do they wash their cars ? LOL.

I have my doubts about that system yet

Well Randy, I checked with numerous places on the internet that did plastics rechroming.  They wanted rediculous prices that is why mine are on the car as is.
This kit looks fairly good, better than the crap in the rattle cans that say they are chrome.  This is good stuff, better be for the price.  I will give it a shot when I have the cash. Can't be any worse than the crap from the factory that lasted 6 months.
Here are the places I e-mailed.  I don't remember who answered now but estimates were from "we can't do that" because of the sockets up to 250-350 per side.

Well, I was going to use a Chrome paint system, but after I painted the housing glossy black, I think I will leave it that color.
