The 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT drive modes offer high tech handling customization. Now I wish that Charger had this too. High Tech Handling Customization.

QuoteThe 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT 392 and SRT Hellcat models will both come with the Drive Mode system. This system adjusts the horsepower output, transmission shift speeds, steering (Challenger SRT 392 only), paddle shifters (automatic transmission only), traction control and suspension settings with the choice of Default, Sport, Track or Custom modes.

Which Drive Mode would you spend the most time in while driving?

For the $80k plus I'm sure that damn 'hellcat' will cost, you too can have two 'driving modes' in a 45 y/o Charger.

The original charger reveal news talked about "various modes," but not four distinct ones. I think "sports" was included.

Now I am thinking may be Charger will get this in 2015?

Ghoste

Of less concern to me about what mode I would most often use, I would be curious how many buyers will be able to actually use the "custom" feature.  Don't get me wrong, I think it's a great idea and for the drivers who know what they want it will be a great thing to have but I wonder what percentage will be able to set it to their needs.
Maybe it will turn some buyers on to road racing and learning finer points of what their car can do?

myk

Or, most likely, these advanced performance machines will never get to flex their technological muscles as they languish in collector-minded owners's garages in the hopes that there's a Barrett Jackson-like pay-off in the near future...

Ghoste

Oh for sure there will be a whole bunch that never get to flex, but its still exciting to think about what the capabilities might be of the ones that do.

All the technology in these cars is just more crap to break.

The Hellcat is way beyond the skill level of most drivers.      :Twocents:
I've never owned anything but a MoPar. Can you say that?

I mean drivers like us!

I'd say "we" think we are decent drivers of "high performance" cars...   Vipers and this new 'cat would be best left to the pros!!   :Twocents:

Hellcat will be a handful!   :2thumbs:    Calling Dan Gurney.....  :smilielol:

I don't consider myself a pro but I certainly have no qualms about driving the Hellcat.  Already have many Viper miles.

This.

There seems to be no limit to how much additional complexity they will dump into cars for smaller & smaller gains.

I'm all in favor of technical advancement in the broader sense.  But that is not what they are usually doing.

Driving easy miles or 'flat out' like it was meant to be driven?

Both, however I'd amend the flat out by stating that being aware of what MY limitations are with the versus someone from the LeMans team a few years back is quite different.  It's one thing to be intimidated by a vehicle or simply incapable of utilizing it and another to know where your skills falter.
