Well I finally have a bumper jack for my car.  Given that I only have NAPA, Autozone and Advance Auto parts by me (or Eastwood)  what are the closest spray cans I can get to paint the jack base and mechanism the correct gray and the mast/post that silver?  Also, I will need a spring if anyone has one.  However, I know I can order one.  Is it correct that the spring is also painted the same gray?  Someone on ebay claimed to have an nos jack setup and the spring was gray??

What year car? I assume '70 if gray, or did the charger line not have the black jack parts in '69 like the other B Bodies?

Okay.. I'll let the Charger boys help you along. '69 B body jacks (base and hook) are black, '70's are gray. I have both (jacks and cars!)  :yesnod:

BTW... did you see the washers are on their way?

I did not see about the washers - thanks.  Odd thing about the colors, a friend took this out of the trunk of his old charger it has the date code of 8 C if I remember correctly - and it has a gray base and plate.  It's an original untouched jack.   Yes, a bit soon for my car but the correct looking jack none the less.

The base and mechanism is grey. I'm not sure about the lug wrench, Ive seen them both grey and black. Honestly Ive never seen a hold down spring anything other then zinc, but I saw the ebay listing that you mentioned with the grey spring that was supposedly part of a survivor jack. The lift bar is silver, but I'm not sure what the actual finish was, if it was a zinc plating or silver painted.

I used grey primer & clearcoat on the mechanism & base.  For the post I used Hammerite Silver.  The wrench I used gloss black...the spring is a natural finish that I cleacoated   :Twocents:

Now that's an idea.  Where did you get the silver?

I believe Home Depot sells the Hammerite paint.

I used the "hammered" finish...thought it looked pretty cool.  Thy also sell a smooth finish.  Bought the spray can
