Daytona R/T SE

Some assembly required.

Plus...

Some Chevy head worked on it. :eek2:

I'd strip it to bare metal and start over.  :Twocents:

QuoteThis car was listed last week as a finished complete restored car. This time the Auction is for the car AS IS
Please call me with questions or for details
RARE 1970 Dodge R/T, SE, Charger. Factory V code Super Track-Pack Car. One of only 103 ever built. 440 six pack, D 21 hemi 4 speed pistol grip, Sure Grip 4.10,(Super track Pack) Dana 60 rear, factory tach & gauges. Factory EK2 Go Mango with black vinyl top & interior, black Call out hood stripes & black tail stripe. The original build sheet & fender tag along with other documentation are with the car. The body on the car is RUST FREE and straight This is a "REAL" car and all hidden vin #'s are on the car. It is not a clone or a re body.
This car was purchased 4 years ago for $76K. The buyer was not happy with the paint when he took delivery on the car. It was then brought to my restoration shop & fully disassembled for a rotisserie restoration. Long story short, a couple of years and many, many thousands of dollars later the customer lost interest in the car & we purchased it from him. The engine is Fresh & has been professionally rebuilt at a cost of over $10,000.00, hemi 4 speed transmission rebuilt, complete front sub frame & suspension rebuilt. The auction price is for the car AS IS but we can finish the car if wanted. Call for details, questions or for references. The first car pictured is what the car looks like done.

The auction is for the car  AS IS but I can adjust the reserve if buyer wants the car finished.

So it probably has a sky-high reserve given that the guy who brought it in to the shop was in to it for something well over $100k (I would not be shocked at $125k+).  Even if the shop bought it for 50 cents on the dollar it is still overpriced at over $50k as an unfinished car.  Probably needs $25k to have this shop finish it.  Assuming the car is redone correctly to this point - even buying the blocked shell, 100% complete boxes of interior and all other parts, and the rebuilt parts it seems like this is a $30k pile of of a car if one was to finish it themselves.

The economics were way off on this car from the start.

They got lucky then imo.  They better take the money & run.

$100k & the car is still in primer....wow.  If that's the case, this shop will need another $100k to finish it.  Just sayin'.

Pretty neat car. I guess the price would depend on how all the parts were and good the sheetmetal was.
Seems like a pretty dark shop to do high quality work in.
