Hey guys I am parting out the 67 Coronet and need to know how much I should ask for the Rear end and K- Frame. It is a 3:23 open gear ratio. K-frame had a 383 in it. also what is the steering gear box worth. are the torsion bars worth anything? would a guy with a 318 car want them as an upgrade?

A383Wing

gear set maybe $150, K-frame is worthless....they used the same frame for all engines except Hemi, steering box maybe $100 if it does not leak anywhere, torsion bars are not in demand

my thoughts..consider the source

With not knowing what other car the rear end would fit, I would say $200.00 low side and $400.00 being good money.

Steering box, $50.00 so it can be used a core.

K Frame, I believe it will take anything for a 318 to 440. Other than wrecked ones I have only seen 1 K Frame that went bad and that was on my Cuda. Spent 10 years as a 11.0 race car. Say $75.00 to $150.00.

Torsion bars, best used as a pry bar. New ones do not cost that much so maybe $25.00 for the pair. Was the 383 a 2 barrel or a HP 383?  :scratchchin: They should be different.

well not sure if it is a HP but it is a 4 barrel 383. I would be selling the whole rear end not just the center section. Thanks for your input guys.

A383Wing

it's not an "HP" motor...only 325hp rated....that's for the 4bbl engine....2bbl version was 290hp

thanks A383wing. did the HP just have a different cam in it? I have a new purple shaft cam shaft that I was going to use in 70 Charger but I went with a diffrent cam. I do not remember the specs of it off hand but I know that it was a direct stock replacement for a 70 HP 440. Any idea if it is worth putting this can in the 383 I have. I need to change the intake anyway.

'67 is the last year of the "single pin" idler arm, '68 and later K-members with the "through bolt" idler are more desirable. Not much value other than to replace one that's damaged but might be attractive for a swap into a '62-'65 B-body...I'd pay $100 for one in nice condition if I was in need.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

A383Wing

if you got power brakes, the purple cam will not provide enough vacuum for a street driven car.....also, the cam is not real "daily driver" friendly either....at least mine wasn't

being a small valve head, I wold not go much bigger than a magnum cam for street use

and yea, basically difference in the 67 383 engine was cam, heads, intake, & exhaust from the 68 & up 383's

Thanks for your advice and help guys. I appreciate it.
