grrr i just deleted everything after i was done typing :flame: :flame: :flame: :flame: :brickwall:

so try again

i have no idea where the lower windsheild trim clips need to be mounted, i can guess the side to side location, but i need to know how high off the bottom of the 'V' in the cowl that the clips sit, like mabey use a digital caliper, or sockets or anything that will just fit under the bottom of the trim clips on the cowl

i need to know because the old screws are headless and bodywork has gone over them, so i have NO idea, and id be very sad if i drilled to high or too low and could not use my lower windsheild trim

also i have the 10 holes across the top and want to know if i can just use the regular trim clips, and not the "special" clips ive read about, i bought a new set of clips and i guess they shorted my atleast a 1 clip and 2 screws or 2 special clips and 2 screws, either way i need to find out,
thanks a bunch

Have you tried the search function?
I'm sure there are several threads here about that subject. There once was a topic with pictures with tape measures of several members around...

NOS is nice, turbo's are neat, but when it comes to Mopars, there's no need to cheat...

:popcrn: im waiting and not hurrying lol im just ready for a right answer, and if you dont have clips installed a measurement from the bottom of a few screw holes to the bottom of the 'V' will work just as well!
thanks, and if you dont want to take pictures i dont blame you  :2thumbs:

thats a great thread, i used it for deciding how to place my other clips, but i did not see any measurement like i need, not to be picky but i think my question is quite off the wall
Thanks

i think ill try measuring from the top of the cowl to the top of the clips since the other way varies quite a bit

just an FYI    a friend of mine just finished his 69 about 6 months ago,   he went to wash it and noticed rusty water coming from the back glass.   he pulled the rear glass moulding to find that the after market clips were rusting.   Evidently they are not treated with any type of rust inhibitor.  His solution is to prime and seal them.    We'll See

thanks for the heads up! but my car is lucky to get the front trim, the rear glass is so SOL its not even funny, NOS is Not For Me, but spelled it wrong lol
again thanks, i bent a piece of sheet metal '2inch x 10 inch' with a 1/8inch, 90 degree bend at its end, and pushed the clips up against it and marked the middle of the holes and drilled a cunthair above them im hoping it works at great

Good tip sardi...

It might be an idea to buyy the clips some time before you need them and have them zinc plated along with some other bolts and stuff.
