I am trying to figure out if my Charger originally came equipped with a clear or tinted windshield.  This is a 1968 A/C model that had the windshield out when purchased.  The broadcast sheet has a 2 in the box marked windshield.  Does anyone know what this would mean?

I know a lot of A/C cars came with tinted glass, but not all.  The rest of the glass on this car is all clear.  Thanks.

Code 522 = tinted windshield only. Is that what you are showing?

That's it. Thank you for the quick reply and the picture of the broadcast sheet.  Now to find a correctly tinted glass...

It was recommended but not required. Here's an order sheet from a 69 Coronet.

I ve seen them with clear side glass and a tinted windshield  more common than you think

My previous black 68 had A/C and was coded for "tinted windshield only". My bronze 68 with A/C has tint on all windows. None of my other Chargers had A/C and all the side/rear glass was clear. I believe all windshields were tinted - A/C or not.

Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

Troy, as you can see from the order sheet above, tinted windshields were optional.

I don't know that I've ever seen a totally clear windshield. Maybe I just never paid attention. Or maybe it's just that replacement clear windshields weren't available for a very long time. I sort of assumed all of my cars had tinted windshields. One more thing to check...
