Standard most models, but not all?

My buddy says that his '74 didn't have one.  A quick google search confirms few, if any, '74s had 'em.

I thought this Pentistar was kind of a standard thing for Chrysler.  Heck, my '98 Grand Caravan has it.

That is strange to hear. If it is true, I was not aware of it.
Perhaps the fender was replaced at some point?  :shruggy:

My 91 stealth twin turbo has one molded into the plastic rear bumper in that spot, my 69 charger was missing the pentastar when I got the car in 1978, but it had fender damage on the front part of that fender so it could have popped off, it had the holes in that position.  I put one on recently when I was sure the paint job was done.

The old Chrysler Corp. stopped the fender Pentastar in 73 .

Hmmm.....interesting.

So at some point Chrysler changed hands and they picked up the 'star again....to a certain degree.   :scratchchin:

Chrysler discontinued the Pentastar on vehicles in January of 72.  You will occasionally see a 72 with one but they are few. It was revived on select vehicles as the brushed silver, symbol of "The New Chrysler" in 93 or so and eventually phased out again by the end of the decade.
Here is a post about it on Moparchat http://www.moparchat.com/forums/showthread.php?t=928

If anyone is interested I have a scan of the 1963 Service Bulletin, Pentastar placement document that was sent to the dealers.
