Guys/Gals,

I am looking to buy the following items in the very near future, and I just wanted to check and see if anyone had any issues with some of the items and vendors that I am going to use/purchase from.  The items are as follows:

- fuel lines (I am probably going with FineLines for both brake and fuel lines)

- filler tube (Looking at the one that vansautollc has on eBay)

- exterior gasket kit (DMT '69 Charger Exterior Paint Gasket Kit Set) that lorettafillmore has on eBay.  This is the one that I am more concerned with.  The kit has all the gaskets that I am looking for; however, I would appreciate any comments if anyone has done business with the seller, and the quality of the gaskets themselves.

- and last of all, I am looking at the trunk tube seal.  QuickSilverDieCast has them on eBay for $28.58 plus $5.95 for shipping.  RT Specialties has them for $20.00, but does anyone know how much they charge for shipping?

Any input would be greatly appreciated.  Also, if anyone knows of any other locations that provide great customer service and parts, I would like to hear of them.

Thank you!!

The first two have been around for a bit and as far as I know they are good vendors.  I haven't heard of the other two myself.

I got my fuel/brake lines from Inline Tube and they worked fine. I've heard good things about Fine Lines.

Vans Auto pissed me off once and I never bought from him again but it was probably just a snafu. He took forever to send me a part and I didn't like the way he dealt with it.

Detroit Muscle Technologies (DMT) is one of the best companies I've dealt with during my restoration process. Excellent parts and great customer service.

I've never heard of that Quicksilver place but R/T Specialties is good to deal with. You'll have to ask him about shipping but I don't recall him being a gouger.

I have dealt with DMT directly and they have always been great and their products have exceeded my expectations.   :Twocents:

I've bought from them without issue, pretty sure at a booth though, I don't think I've done online business with them.

Does anyone have the link to Fine Lines? I found one (finelinesinc.net), but it seems strange that I can't see their products.  It says no "image available."  I'm just wondering if I am on the wrong one.

Looks as if they have redone their website and only says to place an order call ...

Well......one last question before I order the fuel lines.

My car (440/4b) currently has the 5/16" fuel line, and I would like to know if I should go with the 5/16" again or should I go with the 3/8"?  This isn't going to be a show car, so I don't care about originality.  Yes, I am ordering the 1/4" return line.  Anyhow, any opinions out there?

Thanks!

By NO MEANS is this the end all standard, BUT, a buddy is running 6.98 @ 102mph 8th mile with a 416 c.I. small block stroker.
he touts it at every show. He's running an $18.00 Advance auto mechanical fuel pump that is STOCK replacement.
also running 5/16" fuel line with stock tank in an A body.

Does this mean you go home, buy these parts, and are back on here with a thread like "Guys, Cooter said I could do this and now it lays down up top"..? Not what I'm saying..

When in doubt, upgrade so it's not an issue later if for nothing more than piece of mind...

There's a minor issue with bumping up to 3/8" in that your fuel tank sending unit will still have a 5/16" fitting as will your fuel pump. The fuel pump fitting isn't that difficult to change but the tank sender is. I say "minor issue" because you can squeeze a 3/8" hose down pretty well onto a 5/16" fitting or work a 5/16" hose onto a 3/8" fitting but there's not enough of an advantage to a 3/8" setup to warrant the hassle IMO.

I guess since it already has a 5/16" line and there really is not major upside to it, then I'll stick with the 5/16".  Thanks, for the info.
