I'm hoping to one day. I plan on doing some driving schools soon so I don't make an ass of myself on the track. Willow, Thunderhill, and laguna seca are the 3 tracks I want to drive on in California within the next year or so.

Here is member v21hemicharger with his charger on the track.

And here is a daytona on the same day.

yeah, and oh yeah, now im pumped I want to do it in June!!!

Now I see it I need 3 go pro cameras one for the rear, front, and one inside pointing at my expressions of, 'oh shit' im gonna wreck the charger and spin out  :icon_smile_big:

Being that I'm an east coast guy, its pretty unlikely that I'll run Willow Springs but I am getting heavily involved in road racing. So involved, in fact, that I'm trying to sell my Charger to buy a dedicated race car. Laguna Seca is one of my "bucket list" tracks but 2,840 miles is a bit of a haul.

Good luck if you do take your car out. Definitely invest in a good camera because those videos are priceless (and because we want to see :icon_smile_big: ) Look into SCCA's PDX (Performance Driving eXperience) or NASA's HPDE (High Performance Driving Experience) events. Those driving schools will teach you a lot in a hurry and you don't need anything other than a safe car and a helmet...

Haven't ran it yet but seeing as I live just an hour away I don't really have an excuse...

Why don't you take your car there in April as part of the CPW club track day? They have their Spring Fling car show the first weekend in April and the track day is the Thursday before the show.
I have considered taking my Charger but I'm not sure if I can make it this year. I will be making the show though....

dual fours

It would be really neat if the cameras could show the speed and RPM's on the screen,
nice course to run. W&R69, thanks for posting.

JR

I love track days, I've ran 6 over the last year. I use an e36 M3  tho, not my charger.

Safety is the biggest thing. Look over EVERY brake component, line, suspension component, wheel lug torque, cooling system etc.

Track days aren't necessarily hard on a car, but if you've got any weak components on the verge of failing, the track day will flush them out quick.

It can be awfully addicting, the adrenaline from going balls out on a road circuit is like nothing else. Its ruined me from having interest in drag racing.

Also, be prepared to be lapped by EVERY Miata.

Thx JR for that info. That's my goal is just push the charger and have fun that's what it was built for.  She can sustain daily driver status here in Phoenix so that's off my checklist next is to travel with her cross country and do fun things with her.
