In the scenes where the police shott that remore control electronic pitchfork thing into the car to shut off all of its electrics after the three prongs take hold, why not use spike belts?

because when every thing else is fantasy  , why have something  that  actually works in real life     :yesnod:

Who knows, one could come up with multiple reasons how to stop a car, less dramatic i guess the spikes.

Why didnt they use a puny 69 camaro car for vins cars through whole series well a camaro is less dramatic to look at than a 2nd gen thats why....

Ghoste

That electronic spear thing just seem too much to me though.  Instead of tensing up with the drama I just start laughing.

Do not all well prepared car chase guys use run flat tires so spike belts would not work ??
next project 70 Charger FJ5 green

It'd be easier to believe than that electronic harpoon.

JB400

They're working on goodies like that

Police departments have a hard time making those spike strips work.  Why not give them some high tech toys so that it discourages real life street racing?  Electronic harpoon is cooler than a spike strip.

Ghoste

I suppose for some.  It still just makes me laugh.

hemihead

They didn't use a 69 Camaro because then they wouldn't have got the money you 2nd Gen guys gladly fork over to
to watch that drivel .  :hah:

Exactly and NO ONE NOTICED!  :icon_smile_big:

Ghoste

We didn't of course but I'm sure lots of Camaro watched because of it and I wouldnt be surprised if there is an F&F diecast to pay tribute to it.

There indeed is; I have the Challenger R/T counterpart to the '69 Yenko Camaro.  I'd like to own the 1:18 Camaro but for some reason that diecast car was always more expensive in the aftermarket than the Challenger was.

-Edit: I picked up the Challenger on the cheap because it was the last one left and the driver side mirror fell off, lol; no such luck with the Yenko, though...

Ghoste

Ha!  See?  Its more expensive because those Camaro guys placed it in greater demand, they're even bigger suckers for the frivel than we are.
