25 years ago I bought my first car. After years of watching the Dukes of Hazzard, there could be only One. It was b7 blue with a white top. It had a 318 and was rusty, but for $200 it was mine. On the second day of ownership, my brother and I decide to see how much rubber we could leave on the neighborhood streets. So with one foot on the brake and the other on the gas we proceeded to do just that. A pop came from the driveline and the fun was gone.
I was disappointed, but I wanted to fix it up and repaint it. I also wanted a 440 4 speed. Within a week the motor and transmission were gone and the restoration started.
You know the rest of the story. I worked on it for a couple of years, but other cars, the wife and kid and life happened.
Two week ago I brought the Charger home. It's had a hard life the last 20 years or so. Being outside under a tarp has only added to the rust. But it's time I did something with it.

Well good news that you are finally going to start on it.  Now get going!  :icon_smile_big:

This weekend I got the trunk and framerails cut out. It looks better now than the rusty mess that was in there. The mice loved the framerails.

Fantastic!  Get her going.  Can't wait to see the pictures of progress.
This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.

I finally got my frame rails welded in. It would have been alot less work had I thought to leave my spring perchs attached to the car and chopped the one off my new rails instead.

Hard to believe, but it's been 4 years since I started this post. I haven't work on the car as much as I planned and everything takes longer than you think. Here are a few pictures. I took more picture but I can't find them and I fear they may have been deleted

This is my work space. the 3rd stall is to short so I had to remove the front clip

That big ugly hole in the above pictures got filled with a new trunk floor

Primed trunk

I made my own frame connectors out of 2 x 4 14 gage tube. The front half  I cut to match the floor, the rear I sectioned to 2 3/4" and run it though the rear floor. It was a lot of work making the pattern and cutting the front section. I think if I were to do it again I might use 2 X 3 tube and maybe fill the gape between the connector and the floor with sheet metal. This was the only picture I could find.

My pictures didn't line up with the captions. Here is the floor. These are the only picture I can find, #!&%*.

The blue is just something I had laying around. The car is B7. and I think that is what I will repaint it

New Quarters. I picked these skins up off craigslist for a few hundred when the AMD's first came out. I'm happy with the way they came out but it is a lot of work to butt weld using thousands of tack welds. An observant person will notice that they are 1970 quarters. My original plan was to delete the marker for a cleaner look. I lately have been wavering on that idea.

The firewall is the only remaining part of the shell with rust. I wanted to finish it this year, but stopped for the winter. I patched the right side with looking a pictures of other peoples cars. There should be a crease in the metal which I didn't form. No one will see it, but it bothers me and I may fix it next year. I am going to pull the dash to finish the left side which is what I should have done before working on the right side.

70 marker lights are hard to find (so i've been told) deleting them may not be a bad idea, And again awesome metal work  :drool5:

Some progress is better than none and I think the B7 will look great.
