67 charger on overhaulin tonight at 8pm central

Just noticed that Overhaulin tonight is doing a 67 charger at 8 central time. We should keep our fingers crossed they don't stray to far.

I like the Mopar inspired Foose wheels.  I think these are the same one's he put on a Challenger last year?  I really cringed when they dropped the 440.    Luckily nobody got hurt.    Bet it didn't do the engine any favors though. 

I wonder what they do with leftover parts like that?  I bet there are plenty of guys around here that would kill to have them.

The history on the car was pretty cool though.  I say give the kid a hair cut, pull his pants up and feed him a real meal, then invite him to join the board and tell us all about his new ride

I just watched the episode - just had it downloaded.

I'm sorry if I offend, but a Charger (no matter what year) is NEVER supposed to be dropped. I think the final product lost all the good qualities of the original '67 Charger.
By dropping it and having those disgusting 20+ inch rims they ruined the whole effect.

I wish someone would tell Mr. Foose that muscle cars are supposed to have more rubber in the back than rim. It's not a Cadillac Escalade for Shaq O'Neil - so why try to make it into one.

The color concept was cool - but losing the chrome along the body and deleting the fender mounted turn signals was a bad choice. Also, they left off the rear side "Charger" emblem and "DODGE" letters on the front of the hood... also the door handles were non-existant (probably went with those touch-open systems). Now, I know they wanted to "improve" the ride and bring it into a now-a-days look, but does that mean they have to delete EVERYTHING that is on the original. I'm surprised they left the rear tail lights intact.

Honestly, I would have gone off on the hosts if someone "stole" my Charger and dropped it.

I wasn't too crazy about what they did to the interior.  The interior was already pretty distinctive from anything else on the road and in a car that is seldom seen.  The only purpose served by changing it was to prove that they could.
I also think the Foose wheels look terrible on the car.  No Dub City for me I guess.

That seems like much of the mentality in all walks of life today.

I personally think they should have went with someone else's Charger/Challenger/'Cuda/Mopar etc. that was in worse condition. The Charger was originally in REALLY good shape (interior and exterior) when you compare it to some that are sitting around in garages and yards today. They should have lended a hand to someone who was in more need - and honestly, the kid didn't look like he cared much about the Charger anyways - when he heard his car was stolen, he had the whole "whatever" act.

Looks like they were just going for an easy a quick thing to make sure they had time to tape during the SEMA show.

The cutting of the original hood to make it into a shaker hood had me cringing.

$10 says the kid wrecks the car around a telephone pole while trying to roll a joint with his friends en route to the next skateboarding tournament.

It shouldn't take much more than 3-5 minutes for those with broadband.
The quality is good enough to view, some distortion on the shaky/spinning shots in the show, but for the most part you can see what that stooge, Chip Foose, does to the beautiful piece of history.

that show just pissed me off. first that kid did not deserve the car, when they asked him what do you think of the car he went , duh , it's real low duh.

second they cut up a real 440 rust free 67 charger to build that ugly two tone monster . The interior looked like it was from pimp my ride. did you hear when the chick says, shaker scoops are only seen on b bodies and the charger is an e body. duh.

they talk to much on that show I'd rather see more of the work and less explanation of what work is gonna be   done. i'd rather see a guy who works hard and saves his pennies to get his car done,  then a snot nose kid that had it given to him and doesn't know what to do with the car

I do agree that there is too much talking and the actual work takes a back seat. I know this is for ratings and most of the audience doesn't want to watch 20 guys wetsand a car for 30 minutes of the show. But drop some of the pranks and cut the talking to suppliers down a bit please. The Year One guy now has more screen time than Chip.
And all these cars are started and checked before the cameras roll. So why are the Mopar crate hemis filmed while the blue smoke pours out the back of them? Seems like there is a slight bent againt the Mopars. We all get to see the GMs flash right up, but the Mopars suffer from lack of fuel, no spark, or the blue meanies from the pipes.
The Firebird with the wrong imput spline from the Tremec/Keisler was a mere gloss over.
