Hood turn signals black out and decals information please...

Hi guys. I just bought a set of the black 'hood scoop indent decals' to put on my '69 hood, which has turn signals installed. I just  like the look of the decals on my silver hood, but when digging out one of my old turn signals for another member on here, I find that the old lens has a black border around it, leaving only a small rectangular 'lens' in the middle:



Questions:

a) is the black border around the old lens correct? My new signals came with all amber lenses...

b) on which cars were the 'scoop' decals applied? Buyer preference or on all cars?

c) if my turn signal lenses should have the black border, do I use the unused part of the decals, or was it painted on?

Don't know why I'm so worried about originality on my old mongrel, but yah know how it is    . Hell, my car has more parts from other things in it than my ex-wife.....

Black on the lens is correct, the black decal is also correct and it was painted on the lens.
