Hello guys,
Quick question, I looking for info about torque specs in the Aluminium Mopar Performance valve covers, recentely I swap the stamped  steel valve covers and I installed a Moroso Perm-Align Rubber
gasket.
In factory shop manual torque is 40 inch/lbs but , Is correct for aluminium?
Thanks

Tilar

That's probably right. 40 Inch pounds is only a little over 3 ft pounds. You can get tighter than that with a screw driver.

You would ruin the rubber gasket before you'd ruin the valve covers so don't focus too much on the numbers and go by feel.  You want the seal to compress evenly to get it to snug down without the seal bottoming out.  Also watch what the bolt is doing to the valve cover because you can torque a steel bolt pretty deep into that soft aluminum.

Rinse and repeat after a drive or two.
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.
