It's all subjective... there is a fine line between big and TOO big... find the combo that works best for you and enjoy. I run 17x9s up front with a 255/45/17 and 18x10s in the rear with a 285/40/18 - works just fine.

I was noticing the thing that really helps when you go with that look is if you have the front rim/wheel smaller than the back, it is when the oversized rim and low profile tire is the same in front and back like the son's photoshop pic that it just doesn't work for me, but yours looks a lot better,  :Twocents:

Why would you want anything else?  Just give me a Charger and I'll be happy.

mike's charger has the perfect size wheels IMHO, I have seen it in person and it looks even better.  I personally would not like any bigger.  you could go a bit smaller.....i run 16's all around.  If you can get around a bit of a limited tire selection, then it's a nice compromise for guys who like old school and think big wheels are too "bling"

I still have the wheel well trim, should I put it back on?

I like the looks of the cragers - slots - torque thrust and the 200 s.That is the first thing what was done to those cars when they were new .I love the old school look myself. The BIG WHEELS just look out of place on these old muscle cars. For the modern stuff - pro-stars 15s would look great.

I like the trim myself, makes the car look finished,..

...but yours looks a bit "down in front" so you might wanna test fit it, to see first of all, if ya' like it, and second, cranking the wheel, lock to lock to see that it clears, (two people required). Remember that "jounce" may bring the Stainless trim into contact with the rubber. That's one reason i like mine a bit stiffer with Super Stock Springs, HEMI T. Bars & a thicker Sway Bar, because I drive harder then the avarage bear   and I have lots of steep hills with severe departure angles (Seen the movie Bullett?   ) with really tight corners and abrupt curbs to contend with.
Some folks like and have more cushy factory stock set ups and drive more conservatively   on "nice" roads and others can get away with lowered cars, Ten wheelers' red '68 comes to mind, I wish I could get away with that look..  :yesnod:

Not a Charger but it gives you an idea.  They are 17 X 8s front and rear.

I know people trash newer big wheels but I think they look ok. If they are not too big 18-19 max. In fact I just like factory wheels (magnums, ralleys, and my personal favorite... steelies w/ dogdishes) or a newer design, 18-19 in wheel (like in your photo chop)
But old cragers and slots..... come on those thing belong in junk yards, I hate to see a nice charger with pitted crager 5 spokes or those cheep looking slots. just my 2 cents

I actually really liked my magnum 500's, but did the 11.75 swap so I had to move up and I figured what the hell.  I agree that too big looks silly.

Joe Rogan's cuda, and the cuda on the cover of this months hotrod look absolutely putrid to me.  Those are such beautiful cars and they would have looked just fine a bit lowered with 17/18 inchers.  they went way to big imho.

I have two 15x9 steelies I got out of a junkyard many years ago.  I would love to get an early 63 polara, fury, or later belv 2 and throw those babies on!

I would take off those aftermarket long rear shackles in the rear, that will lower the back some, you might need it a
little lower after taking them out and putting some stock units on.  Then I think it would look just fine, nothing wrong
with the wheels in my opinion, I personally like 15x8 and 15x10 magnums best myself, but if we all had the same wheel
tire combo it would be pretty boring  ;D ;D

Hi,
Just seen a set of Torq thrust 2's up for sale near me. But theyre 17 x 10's. I know theyd fit the back, how about the front though?

Paul G

I would consider 15"x8" with a 245/60 15 in front, and 15"x10" with a 295/50 15 in the back. You would need to specify a 5" or 5 1/2" backspace on the rear wheels when ordering. That keeps all the tire inside the wheel well. Fronts and rears are the same height with that set up. But that looks the best in my opinion. Someone on this forum has it. Do a search and you might find it.
