There are few problems in life that cannot be solved with C-4.

the last line of the link's description explains it.

the vinyl top was dealer installed. they were not a factory option.

Although there are a couple of people out there claiming otherwise.

if a vehicle has equipment installed by the factory or the dealer is it still considered original?

Fine line there.  If it can proven without a doubt that it was dealer installled it can carry some weight but still not the same as a factory installed.

It all depends on who you ask on whether it should be considered original.  It always helps if there is documentation that shows it left the dealership that way, a lot of people will consider it a part of the car worth saving (Day 2 restoration).  And there are some stories about some Daytonas arriving at the dealership new with a vinyl top, but reportedly all left Creative Industries without a vinyl top.

If you really want to stir the pot, ask whether Daytonas or Charger 500's look better with or without a vinyl top...
