69 charger is running with 440 in car. I go to to hookup the throttle linkage and it is not lining up like it did with the stock 383.

I am running a victor jr intake with edelbrock 800cfm carb.

Should I make my own cable/linkage or does anyone here know a way to get the stock cable to line up with this setup?

The Victor is quite tall so you need a taller throttle cable bracket. If the car has an auto trans with kickdown you will have a difficult time making the stock kickdown linkage work.  :P

There are basicly 2 options depending on what the trans set-up is ;

(1) Bouchillion performance sells a combination throttle linkage/kickdown setup for auto trans equipped vehicles. With this kit the trans kickdown is converted from solid rods/pivots to a cable. Pretty slick and works very well.

(2) Mancini Racing sells a tall throttle cable bracket for 4spd cars or auto trans with manual valve bodies that don't require kickdown function.

Looks like I am going with mancini. 727 Race trans, manual valve body, no kickdown.

Thanks for the reply

You're welcome Doug  ;)

If by chance your throttle cable ends up being too short you just need to buy a replacement throttle cable for a slant 6 car. Those cables are longer and work well with tall manifolds. I have one on my car using the Mancini bracket with a single plane intake. Got the slant 6 cable from NAPA  :yesnod:

I'm running the same intake with the victor heads, use your old throttle cable as guide , just measure how much longer you need it to be , take it out and add that extra you measured to total length, plenty of cheap after market ones in all sorts of lengths , I also used a lobar cable for the kick down for auto, impossible to get this to work right being as long as it needed to be, don't waste your time trying to use factory linkages for kick down
