Where can I get one that isn't bat shit expensive?

I tried amazon.com.. they showed

ACDelco 45C0008 Pitman Arm

Which is COMPLETELY the wrong shape.

I tried JCWhitney which gave me a TRW part number that replaces MOOG k7076

which is the right shape, but the hole/slots are too big.

Is there a pitman arm that uses a smaller splined shaft?  Part# or source anyone?

Thanks,

Patrick

You can get your existing one rebuilt, at this company, or buy one from them.

I think that is a pretty fair price if ya ask me....there are a lot more expensive ones out there for other cars that are way more pricey.

You're gonna get what you pay for...you want cheap? yer gonna get cheap and it may not last long...plus yer gonna have to have front end aligned anyway....

if $78 is way to expensive, get a Chevy...just sayin

So because it's a mopar it has to be expensive? And because it's expensive it has to be good quality?   A moog k707 is only $40.00, but only fit's 72 and up.. not 71.

I paid about $100 for mine about 20 years ago that my local dealer found through the Mopar parts locator. There were only a few left and mine came off the shelf of a Dodge dealer in Tennessee. None of the local parts houses had a listing for them anymore even then. I'm just grateful they're available.

The later ones are cheaper. If you want a new arm this it what you have to pay. Just the way it is.

Thats a very good price. Our cars are old and when parts start becoming scarce or someone has to start making small runs of parts, prices go up. There is a very low demand for replacment parts for our cars when compared to parts for cars that are under 10 years old. I have a theory on car parts. With newer cars, there is lots of demand and competion from diferent venders to make spares. Lots of parts good pricing. Now on somwhat older cars demand starts going down. Here is where the parts get cheep because they are surpluss and not big sellers. Thats why I could get calipers for an 86 Tauras for $12 each. Now we get to our cars this is a specialty market. Prices are high because there is very small demand and people NEED these parts to repair there toy. This is an expensive hobby.
Good Luck

PS I was in the same boat as you The going rate when I was looking was $150 to $200. I found one on Ebay for about $60 and bought it. THat was 10 years ago

"A" body idler arms for 67's are higher price...be grateful your arm is only $78

Hope you never have to buy an engine or dash harness for the car

Ever wonder why you reply to a thread, thinking you are helping somebody out, and then they bitch, moan, cry, complain, as to what the part is going to cost.
Hard to figure it out.
