hey guys i have a newer mopar performance distributor. i need to reduce the mechanical advance. i took the cap off and i just see one flathead screw. is moving the plate it sits on the adjustment or do i gotta dig deeper than that?

without a pic, hard to say, but I think ya gotta go deeper, under the plate where the springs are located

ok ill have to mess with it. i could see no springs. i simply removed the cap and rotor and saw only one screw.

You have to remove the rotor, the cogged shaft piece and the whole upper plate with the magnets etc to reveal the lower plate where you can adjust the mechanical advance. I'm going to be doing the same thing soon and would be interested on advice on how to remove the pieces to get to the lower plate.

Do you have to remove the distributor?

Yep, the vac pod & plate needs to come off to access the adjustable stops.  :yesnod:

The new dist have 2 small screws 180* apart , you can loosen them without removing the pick up there is a small access area , loosen both screws , move the plate & tighten one screw to hold it & spin it 180* to tighten the second screw ... easy
