My Charger Awakens

My Charger has been sitting in my garage for about a week and a half waiting for my new wheels and tires to arrive from Jegs. I called them for an update as my wheels were special order from them. I am waiting for some One-piece, All aluminum, chromed, Cragar SS models to arrive. They are 5 X 4 1/2 drilled and 15 x 8 rear and 15 x 7 front.  I am having them mount and balance before shipping and have 275 x 60 x 15 Nitto 555 extreme drag radials on the rear and 225 x 70 15 BF Goodrich Radial T/A on the front. Both are proper blackwall tires for the real "old-school" look with the Cragar SS wheels! Especially nice is the easy bolt-on capability of this combination! Anyway, my wheels are supposed to arrive today!

So ......... I haven't had the Charger out because of the possibility of rain.  I promised myself my Charger will never see rain again but, I had to, at least, start the Charger in the opened garage. MAN! does it sound mean! Jegs said my wheel and tire package will probably ship this Thursday and I am getting anxious as fall will be here before you know it and cruising will, again, be more comfortable down here for non-a/c cars! Pics will be here when I mount the new tire-and-wheel combo!

I have the original wheels (restored) on it now but I really want that "Day Two" look!  Here is what it looks like now!

It sure looks badass just like it is but I would do the Day Two look myself.

Thanks for the reply,  Those are the original wheels in the picture and I have 4 N.O.S. wheelcovers for it that came with it from the dealer. I will post a pic of the wheelcovers here but I just have not put them on yet as I did not want to scratch the wheels! Ha!  The classic Cragar SS wheels will look great, though. The picture is of the fellow I bought the wheelcovers from. They were in the trunk, still in the box, of this Hemicar as spare wheelcovers for it and were bought from a Dodge Dealer when he bought the car (the older fellow in the pic). Yep, ...... he was the original buyer of the car in the picture!

The black wheels really don't do the car justice - the chrome Cragar's should be perfect! Can't wait to see pics. Really need to get these two lined up next to each other...

Hi Brandon, sometime soon, we should get them together. I don't have the nerve to drive across Houston right now, though!  By the way, that is not me in the picture of the Black Charger. That is the original buyer (obviously, the older felloe) and the guy I bought the wheelcovers from that were in the trunk. I cannot remember his name right now but I think he lives in northern Arkansas. Very nice guy but, he spent a large amount of money on the Charger and was looking to recoup a little bit of it by selling the "extra" wheelcovers he had for it.

Hey Brandon, when does your GTX make it to Texas?

Was his name Jim C or K. ? I remember the identical car years ago......he had some 300 Series car(s) as well

His name might have been Jim. I just don't remember right now and my receipts for the things I purchased for the Charger isn't handy. He had a musclecar business of some kind but I am not sure if it was a sales lot or a restoration business. I know he was an active member here about the time I bought the wheelcovers from him and said his intentions were to definitely keep the Charger.  Here is the only other picture I have of the Charger and it is of the engine compartment.
