Lots of talk on the board about the 06 and everything we hate about it.  Well, I got one for a rental during a business trip last weekend, just to find out for myself about the car. I tried to forget about the name, and just concentrate on the details of the car.

First off, the looks.  It does have something about it sitting in the parking lot.  Its not a killer, by any means, but up against the other rentals, it looked pretty darn good. As I drove the car and compared it to what was around me, by the end of the weekend I found the car downright attractive. I mean c'mon, 80% of what is out there is mainstream stuff with no style.

The Ride.  The car was very quiet on the highway, very smooth.  Probably a little too smooth; the handling was a little squishy.  But it is kind of a big car, not a little sports job.  It did corner nicely. (my wife was a good sport through all the testing)

The interior.  Big disappointment.  Plain, drab, boring, cheap.  The seats sucked, my right butt cheek was asleep after 20 minutes on the road.
The six way option seat would probably help, my wife could barely see out the front front; the seats are low and the dash is high.

The motor.  Weak.  It was a rental, so probably the base motor, I'm not sure.  But it had a hard time getting out of it's own way.

My bottom line: From a value point of view, and that's the only way to look at buying this car, cause it "ain't no Charger", I would get the 06 Tauras that I rented a month ago before I would get the 06 Charger.  A top shelf piece would no doubt be nicer than the one I drove, but it's just not worth the $$.

(anyway, the numbers 440 from my '68 is all done at the motor shop next week, so on to better things.)

For one I have to say that out of most of the post I have read you have probably done the least bias opinionated review. well done.

As too

you must not drive like me, I think it did very poor for one and for two when I would turn ( as in any test drive ) hard to the left I felt as if I was going to be in the passenger seat. The tires could not hold the road. Thats bad being in my 74 on the same turn at the same speed my 74 did better in all areas of the turn. To me that is truly sad.

I would not mind driving one for myself, although I could never buy one.

There we go, that pretty much sums it up. :icon_smile_approve:

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)
