This is a 74 plymouth Satellite. I ordered a replacement which said specifically for this car. Yet it looks like the float and pickup are about 4 inches difference. Did aftermarket change these? Will the gauge read correct and will the pick up work right?

If one of them are not upside down, I'd say it's the wrong one.
