Nice deal, but what's the deal with the two rods on the drivers side of carbs. Looks like it might have been an auto, kick down rod or something else. .

I saw this a few days ago while searching the completed auctions, never saw it as an active listing (I check the active auctions several times a day) so not really sure what the deal was. Would have gladly made the drive to IL to check it out.

what kind of manual shifter is that setup?

Looks like a V-gate.  First is up and forward.  Pull back for 2nd, push forward for 3rd, then back again for 4th.  To downshift you have to go from 4th to 3rd, then pull up on the handle and pull back.  I had one in my '68.

yeah thats soo true ,  
 over priced shrapnel on ebay  

 when a car comes along that is priced in reality ,  reasonable money ,red flags go up , & think its some kind of scam

Nice car , but did you notice dials on odometer have been tampered with, typical yellowing of numbers exposed and a couple that are like new , internal damage to engine a bummer, cam shaft broken , thrown a rod though sump possibly motor beyond repair, if. Numbers matching bummer, gauges are current auto meter , still a great car
