never said it will be as popular as the GL, maybe more like night rider or the starsky and hutch torino  ::)

I'm thinking more like that Ford Bronco from the movie "Witless Protection". Nobody will want it.

I remember a TV show called 'Family Matters' with a young up and coming actor called "Steph-on". His name on the show was Steve Erkle...On the show he drove a POS little ghey car with three wheels. I still see no one trying to cruise that thing and that show has been off the air from at least 15 years.

Just because it was on some TV show, or some movie doesn't mean it will become what the General Lee is/was...People tend to forget so easily the Car has to be COOL in the beginning in order to make a movie/TV icon like the GL.

:iagree: That car was probably an Isetta.

laugh now, but i swear in 20 years when 4 door impalas do become collectible and youre all to old to remember anything be said right now... screw it i dont know where im going with this  :rotz:

Bout the only reason I could see them becoming anything other than parts cars for 2dr SS models, would be the fact that like the OP here, that's bout all that's left.

Only thing is, they didn't make any 4dr Chargers until later 2000's....And I cannot see ANY of them being as sought after as a 1968-70 Charger.

Personally, I wouldn't swap a 1973 RR clone for a 2DR 196? Chevy Impala. Just ain't my thing.

  that's alright... The thing is, people started paying attention to the muscle cars of the mid 60's to early 70's when they started messing with horsepower and gas prices which was in the mid 70's. At that time though these cars were still new enough that they had some value and nobody had any money.

That Impala is soon to be 50 years old and look where it is. That movie will only bring on a small number of people that will want it for that specific reason.  If he specifically wants the car he should go for it but don't expect to get anywhere near your money out of it when it comes time to part ways. Like I said, I'm not trying to burst anyones bubble, I'm just being realistic.

If you want to make money flipping cars, buy something fairly new with a mechanical problem, fix it and flip it. The only reason to fix up an older car is because you love it and want to keep it, there is no money in it.
If you want to keep the Chevy forever then by all means fix it up. If you want to make money on it, that will never happen. If the Chevy was a 2 door, had a nice interior, good bumpers and trim and just needed paint and wheels and was $500 you could make money on it, not this car.
It would take a few years and much money and labour to get this car going, if you did nothing but work a few extra shifts at work and saved money, you could get into a Charger without any gruntwork at all.

Its especially hard to make money flipping old cars if you love them.  If you can see them as nothing but a commodity then you might make a go of it.

X2 amen brother!! I buy newer cars 10 years old or newer with bad engines or transmissions and flip them, I have 2 sitting in my shop now and will make at least $2500 profit on each after I fix them.
Sold my Charger unfortunately....never got it finished.

I would tell the guy wanting to make the trade that he better bring some cash along with the chevy... to the tune of $3000 bucks.

Tell him you are buying my car for 2500 and paying me 500 to take the chevy.
