From /6 Demon to 318 Dart

So as many of you know awhile back a guy on FABO sent me a complete 7 1/4 rear end free of charge to replace the one that went in my Dart. Also many know the hardships I had getting that rear end into the Dart just a bit ago.

Well I learned an interesting thing about that rear end. Turns out it's actually a 7 1/4 suregrip. Found that out by accident. Seems it came out of a /6 Demon. The guy who shipped it to me never even opened it up to look at it the insides.

Pissing down rain, trying to get home, gave the car a little too much gas when the light turned green, rear end started sliding sideways...  :o

Steve Magnente wrote a short article on a 7 1/4" SG axle that was in the back of a Mopar Muscle magazine several years ago. I guess if you had a slanty car in the snow, it may have been beneficial.

I also remember it talking about the suregrip in some book about the Dart and how it was popular if the car was ordered with the towing package as well.
