i saw that episode, that was way to high for that car in that condition! The way he was talking up the car you would think he found a 69 hemi rr. :icon_smile_angry:

their prices are outrageous anything to amp up the story line, my kid worked at the DMV and Danny would come in, he had pics on his phone of my car, so he asked him what it would take to finish bodywork and paint on my car (i would put it back together), he said 45K ::) ::)

should have given him a sob story so he would do it on the cheap as a 'charity' like he sometimes supposedly does.  ::)

sometimes the figures they throw don't make any sense or are way off...like that 73 RR he sold to the old couple for like $35K. Same thing with that 73 (or 74?) Charger he "restored" and sold for $25K i think. They were nice cars and he probably did put that much money into them, but 73-74 B-Bodies are rarely (never?) worth that much even in perfect/restored condition.

I think these type shows are kinda riding the wave from the BJ auctions. They tend to throw out numbers hoping someone will think that $40K is the "new" $20K.

Fun to watch, but not fun what they are obviously trying to tell people in the Collector/hobby/muscle car world.

Agreed. as this "conditioning" might work in time... Kinda like how we're all now thinking gasoline at $3,25/gal is a deal, when it was $1.40, a mere decade ago...  :Twocents:

They nearly always make money with some simple cleaning up and flipping.  Were it really just that easy.

That show is so fake and so scripted it makes Gene Simmons Family Jewels look like it is competing with Mad Men for the Show of the Year Emmy.

Danny was cool to see here and there on Pawn Stars, but his own show sucks.  They might as well carry around the script with them. Nothing is real including the prices.

I like the show.
Me too, better then some of the other shows, not as much as others... But I don't really expect much from it thou, I think of it as purely, just Entertainment, like most these reality cars shows are meant to be... They aren't self proclaimed Mopar experts, they're more like kind of jacks of all trades, automotive enthusiasts...  :Twocents:

I don't think anybody that replied with any kind of distain for this show really dislikes the show itself, but more or less what the show is gonna do for dumbasses looking to flip cars and now roaches are worth $35K because "Danny" sold one for that. Not the show so much as what the show is gonna do for the hobby. Too many who watch BJ auctions and these type shows, actually buy into the pricing. Now, a Charger, or whatever, that could be had for reasonable pricing, is now a "Danny" car that's priced outrageously.

Love the show, just hate what it's inevitably gonna do.

Investors have been jumping in and out of our hobby for many years. It stopped my buying interest in the eighties and put a few projects on hold at that time. I lost a nice 68hemi RR because the price was too much to resist. It put some of our dreams out of our reach and into warehouses.
It is nice to know that what we like has good lasting value but the two edged sword jerks us around against our will.
