Are there different taillight covers for a '69? I looked at two covers at a swap meet. One has plastic tabs at the base of the cover at a 90 degree angle. It has a screw hole that when a screw is put in it would screw into the trunk floor. My cover on my '69 does not have the tabs. The swap meet vendor also had a second cover with no tabs, and it doesn't look like the tabs broke off. Were there different vendors to Chrysler that supplied the covers or is one for a '69 and one for a '70?

I know for certain the factory offered two versions. One has deeper wells for the tail lamp housings than the other. The shallow one will not fit cars originally equipped with the deeper housing mounts.

I just replaced the trunkfloor in my 70, and the bumper re-inforcing brackets/plates had screw holes in them which I believe were for the taillight cover, so the screws didnt actually go thru the floor...at least 2 any way...

I found that as well , my cover old stock , or used in good condition would not fit over what ever vendor cast the backs or taillight housings, found several differences in housings ,the ears to protect the globes were larger, ended up buying another set and that worked out OK , and no my cover missing the floor tabs , not originally on there
