In the last Star Trek movie, as well as the one coming out very soon, they're supposed to be the same crew when they were younger. I guess they're called "prequels".

Yeh, it was ok.  There were a lot of Star Trek references though from the old Shatner / Nimoy movies which made it kind of funny.
