I have never sealed the last coat of primer before the color and have never had any problems using 2K primers. I see here some people are using  a reduced coat of primer as a sealer, is this alright? If so, what would the recommended reduction? Thanks

You can reduce up to 50% for sealer. I use SPI epoxy primer as it really does seals before topcoat, that way there won't be bleedthrough and you get better color holdout.
