I have been watching this show, on and off, for several years. It seems to me that whenever they review an American branded car they have to find fault with it, something has to be below the average. Poor economy, underpowered, poorly shifting transmission, poorly designed instrument panel, etc. If they do an Asian or European car they have all raves about it. performance, quality, you name it it is all good. It irritates me. Are American made cars really below standard as compared to Asian and European brands?

I have rented a Honda and a Toyota on a time or two. They did not impress me at all. I would rather drive a Dodge or a Ford.

Yeah, I have the same opinion...  I think they're trying to remind everyone that they're professional automotive journalists and not just "enthusiasts" like us.  I've driven a couple of the cars they've beat up on, both foreign and domestic and can't see what their gripes are.  They're all better than what I learned to drive in (a 73 D250, /6, manual steering and brakes)
They will ding a car because it's "awkward interior increases driver effort" or some such BS.  Or it has heated lumbar supports in the seats but not a power inflatable hemorrhoid cushion.  Must be nice to be picky enough (and rich enough) to only drive the very best!

Yes, I have always got the same impression that they tend to favor imports over domestics.
Sold my Charger unfortunately....never got it finished.

It's a PBS production. It's geared to that viewer. The majority of those viewers fall into the automotive "appliance" driver category.

Actually, it's not just Motorweek, it's pretty much all of those type shows and magazines.  The only exception I've seen is MotorTrend.  It's been bought off by GM.  Otherwise, those shows aren't really worth watching and the magazines ain't worth reading.

I hate to say it but my favorite part is Goss's garage. Every once in a while he will have something good. Most of the time it is car care for dummies.

I agree.  I stopped watching it years ago due to the bias aspect.  The other night I turned it on for about 10 minutes and once again Lexus and BMW......   :brickwall:
