hey guys, I have a 74 hardtop with vin# WH23U4A127826. I just was wanting some more info from the "Knowledge" crowd, i found a for sale add from a guy in Chicago selling his 74 and he said 204 built out of the lynch plant with the 440 motor, and 7 left in existence. I just wondered how factual this was. If so, do i have #8? lol.

Sounds like he is misinterpreting a GG number.

AFAIK, no break out of production by plant has ever been released. There is no way to know how many cars of a specific model came from which plant.
Seeking information on '69 St. Louis plant VINs, SPDs and VONs. Buld sheets and tag pictures appreciated. Over 3,000 on file thanks to people like you.

I think it was 213 built including those for export total. The 7 car figure may be for what's currently registered. It is a rare car though.

Welcome to the board from another Kunkel.

There is no way of knowing how many of anything are left in existence, people who make such claims should say how many are "known to exist".
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

Here's some info from Galen on my U code 74 Rallye;

Thanks for the info guys, I did the research on this car in hopes to find a value of it. Still have not got that accomplished. I did not match the numbers on motor/door/trany yet, but seems someone before me has definitely modified the motor, holly carb and intake, noisey electric fuel pump on the firewall, amature bondo work, trany is weak. Just needs a good few weeks in the shop when time is found. But overall good shape and sounds even better. Anyone have an idea of a value on the ride?

Although it's rare it's not considered to be highly collectable (YET)! There will come a time in the future when they a sought after.
A very good condition 74 with it's original 440 could be worth $14K - $15K. Needing body and trans work and likely a few other things, $5K - $7K. Really need pics and more info.
If you're seeing bad body work now, you can bet more will start showing soon. I would much rather find a body unpaired than poorly repaired.
