Disk Brake / Wheel size
I am trying to plan ahead and thinking about a disk brake conversion and what size wheels/tires to plan for.
My '68 Charger R/T should have a 505 stroker which will need good brakes.  My stock wheels were F70-14.
When I consider Brakes, I believe that larger rotors would provide greater stopping force because the resistance moment arm is greater.
I noticed that a common wheel size used here on chargers is 15 inch (factory normal).  What is the largest rotor size that normally is used with 15 inch wheels?  For those that use larger size wheels, what rotor diameters do you use?
I was also wondering whether a noticeable improvement in stopping performance is found with the larger brake sizes, or they all have the capability of locking the wheels and size doesn't matter, except for possible heating and fading.  Personal aesthetics rule??

All really depends on how you are gonna drive it as to how big of a tire/rim/disc rotor you are gonna want.

For me? I have a 505 Stroker on Nitrous (Over 650 HP)I get reeled in with stock 11" rotors and 15" wheels/tires. Course, this in in an A-body that weighs 3400 LBs.

I do not do the "cone lot" thing, so I do not need 15" rotors, and 20" rims/tires.

The largest rotor to fit 15" wheel is 12.88" and that's only some 15" wheels. Next rotor size is 13" and will require a 17" wheel to fit those...which look/fill the wheel the best in my opinion. To run an 18" wheel you best have bigger brakes to compensate for the increase in wheel inertia. It really should depend on your choice in a wheel...I can't imagine paying for a disc set-up and not upgrading a little over stock. Some others here will help out to, get ya set up.. What are you running now? Drums? Many of the current upgrades bolt to the drum spindles.

My stock R/T brakes are drum on 14" wheels.  I have 15" white wheels on there now because they came free with new tires removed from a van.  My original Plan was to run 15" wheels.  If that is the case, then it appears that 11" rotors should be good enough and 12" rotors would be an option assuming the calipers, etc., don't bump into anything.
Thank you for your input.
