Another Cam Question

I'm looking for some input on which cam I should choose for my motor. The engine is a 440 with 452 heads that are fully ported and polished, 10:1 compression, Weiand high rise intake, Holley 850, and a dual 3 inch straight pipe exhaust system, 727, 2800 rpm stall, 3.73 rear end. I ended up burning 2 exhaust valves from running too lean earlier in the motors life, and am currently rebuilding the heads so I figured that I would change the cam as well because I have been unhappy with it. The motor was in a monster truck before I bought it, and it is designed to rev to the moon instantly and make max power then, I unfortunately am unsure the exact specs of the cam currently in it Right now its idle is just too radical for me and has a rough time for street driving, I'm looking to tame it down a little but, but still have some aggressive sound to it. I was looking at some by Lunati, but I am open to any suggestions. I'm also planning on switching from roller to a hydraulic setup. Car is just a mean street car, I have hardly any intentions of even taking it to the track. Can anyone help me out?

We have similar 440 builds and I'm in the process of getting my new cam installed, so can't say right now how its going to perform, I'm switching from a mp .509 to. Lunati 603030 , i was sort of in the same park you were in with that old lumpy cam sounded great but i just felt if i ever got the chance i would update the cam to smooth out the engine a bit. Im going with the lunati  cam kit with hydraulic lifters and a set of crane gold rockers. For my six pac build.
After reading thur lots of posts here as well as a discussing my options with firefighter (Ron)  it seems like the lunati was the way to go.
  Maybe someone will chime in with an actual review of the cam and its performance.

I have a set of crane gold rockers also haha how funny! But thanks for the advice, I was planning on Lunati anyways!

I haven't ever used the lunati cams but my friend has a voodoo cam in his 360 and it sounds pretty good!! I have used the MP 280/474 cam and the 284/484 cam and these are good cams with a good 3000 stall converter!! I had a comp cams extreme energy 274 cam with 488/491 lift and it was a great driving cam and sounded great in my car. It had great driveability and power too. The only reason I changed it was because I went up to a 493 so I pulled that cam and just went up to the next size up to compensate for the more cubic inches!! I am running the extreme energy 285 I think. It is a 507/510 lift cam and it would be good with a 3000 stall too. The smaller 274 cam would work with a 2500 stall.

As for the original question ; the 303 VooDoo would be a good match for your build as well
