'70 headlight knob removal from switch

Can someone please tell me how to remove the headlight flip knob from the switch on a '70?  Switch is bad, got a replacement off ebay w/o knob.  The pin going thru the knob has a small head but dont see how the tail can be removed w/o damaging the knob.

Thanks DC1, yes, that does help.  I think the one in the previous post was for a 68 or 69, mine doesn't have the vacuum arm since the headlight doors are electric, see below.  I guess I could drill it out like lilwendal explained but not sure how to capture it on the exit side when i reinstall on the new switch.
