I had this posted on Moparts also & for some reason it was deleted. Another board member me PM'd me that someone had replied in regards to this car but I am now unable to find the post since it was deleted & have not been able to find out why it was deleted yet. Trying here also to see if I can find out if this car still exists & if someone here may now own it.

I bought this car when I was 15 back in 1985 before I was old enough to drive. It was my first car (not bad for a kid, huh). It was totaled by a hit & run drunk driver. My insurance company totaled it out back in 1989 or 1990. Too much $$$ to fix. It was bought back at an auction & repaired poorly. They offered it back to me. But I already bought my current 70 R/T S.E. I was wondering if someone out there now owns. I would like to try to buy it back since it was my first car. It was last seen but last owner who bought it from the shop who repaired it so poorly in the Redford/ Dearborn Michigan area in the early 90's. If you know of a 70 Charger near you or are looking to sell one in Michigan. Please PM me or call 1-313-505-7948. Thanks Jay.

Yes, I did try the 70 Charger registry, as I have it posted there as well. Just trying all different options. Apparently, according to the PM I received from another member on Moparts someone did reply & either knows of the car or now owns it but the guy that PM'd me has not replied back to my PM to him to find out what was said before Moparts deleted my post. Still have not received a reply back from Moparts as to why my posts are deleted yet either.

I am getting closer.... I found out from another member on another board that there were replies to my post & pics were attached before the post got deleted. Yet another member had posted that he is buddies with the guy who now owns it & it is located up near the U.P. Cool to hear that it still exists but I haven't been able to get ahold of the membr that attached the pics yet of his buddies car (which may be my old car). Still waiting to find out if it is mine for sure or not.

It has been confirmed that it is in the U.P. Mike that goes by the name plumcrazypurple has P.M.'d me pics (Thanks again Mike). His buddy is the one that owns the car today. He says his buddy does not want to sell. I haven't givin up yet. It is now in a shed in gray primer with the trunk area, door jams, etc. cut in plum crazy purple. The car was originally black. I would still love to get this car back someday. Let me know if you know of it & know who own's it now. Thanks.

Don't know for sure yet. He said he verified the VIN & it is my old car. Story goes. It was in the process of being restored & there was a huge garage fire. The current owner managed to push it out & save the rolling chassis/dash/steering column & front fenders. Everything else was lost in the fire. The current owner now lost interest because of this mishap & has pushed it out to the 1 car size shed behind his house (out of sight out of mind). This is where it will sit until he is ready to work on it again, someday.
Plumcrazy purple says he was going to tell the owner my story about me being the old owner & that this was my first car to see if it peeked any interest out of him. I haven't heard anything back since then.

Are you the guy that needed the optional rear seat shoulder belts for a '70 that were on the Detroit Craigslist a few years back?
I've never owned anything but a MoPar. Can you say that?

6pkrtse

Yeah, that was me. But I wasn't going to pay for what they went up to on E-Bay. Why do you ask? Was it you selling them or do you have a set available?

I live in the U.P. near Sault Ste. Marie...If you ever find anymore Information feel free to send me a PM and point me in some direction and I will try to look around. My Son and I enjoy digging up "lost Mopars".

Thanks a ton. I have spoke with some other local people here by me in the Detroit area where the car is from that may know who he is Up North in the U.P. The current owners name is Louie I believe. That is what i have been told. He bought it as a roller & the original engine was sold off for some off road mudder truck to someone else after I owned it. I was #'s matching car. I currently still have the old matching #'s trans from that car in my current 70 & still have the fender tag from it also.

Neither - but when it was on c'list for $350. (if I remember) and local to me,  I drove over and took dimensions and photos of the stuff. I had never seen any in person.

I take it you never found any??  :shruggy:

I too was amazed they went for $550.+ or something like that, on ebay.

6pkrtse

No, still have never found any others. I didn't have the extra money at the time. looking at it now I should have bought them. Probably going to be hard to find again. Can you send me the pictures you took of what he had at that time? I'll shoot you a PM with my email. Thanks.
