Hey guys I am looking at a 66 charger and the owner says it came 4 gear from the factory.How can I tell from the fender tag?

Take a look at my site.  Fender tags are broken down.
C1 is 3 speed, C3 is  speed (not offered on 318) and C5 is auto.

depends on the color...and yer gonna have to find the right buyer....shipping is gonna be pricey...

I have seen them go for $50 each up to $150 each.....and in this economy, it's gonna be tough. Nobody repops these, and fixing them is a pain.

Just collecting a little info for now.It is a car I am thinking of buying.Nice body but the inside is toast.

If you are thinking of buying this car and the interior is toast as you say...finding interior parts for a 66 or 67 is next to impossible because they are made of un-obtainium

Seat covers, dash pad, carpet, and some console trim is available.  Depending on what color, I have a yard near me that still has door panels used - but they are not perfect.  In fact I have a 66 full console that I have been meaning to put on Craig's list. Some of the other stuff that is same as 68 is out there too, like steering wheel, shifter, ash trays and the like.
Otherwise it's junk yard time!

Thanks for the heads up guys.As much as I want a 66 maybe it would be cheaper in the long run to build my 65 Coronet post car.

if you really want a 66, it would be cheaper in the long run to find one basically complete body wise and interior wise...the drive train does not matter, that can be found anywhere. It's the exterior & interior tidbits that will nickel & dime you to death in trying to find them
