What engine does your car have?  Does it have the factory intake manifold or aftermarket aluminum one?  As far as your trans, you either have a 727 or a 904, depending on what motor is in it.  Also, does your car have a/c?

ODZKing

Yes, lots of variables there.  318/360/400/440 with or with out A/C as stated etc.  Do you have fender tags and/or build sheet?   :popcrn:

340 and 400's got 26" radiators with or without A/C and 440 got 28" if they had A/C.

318's and 225's got 22", except HD 318's which got 26".

As a side note, when I was looking into getting a radiator for my 340, guy told me his 400 came w/28", so remamber that.

Also, note SB and BB 26" radiators have the trans cooler ports in different locations.

Measure your bolt with on the radiator support, easist way to tell.

Not Necessarily Randy.  I have a 73, 400 with A/C and it has a 28 inch radiator.
It's on the fender tag as well.  Should be the # on the tag or in this case on the second tag. BUT even with that there are 2 different 28 inch radiators.  The build sheet will have the last 2 numbers of the radiator on it.

Here is one I found on the internet built at Lynch road with a 28.

I mentioned that I have heard of a 400 w/28, that is why I said to measure the bolts. I think ma mopar put whatever was available into cars.

WP29
W = Dodge Coronet / Charger
P = Premium (SE)
29 = 2 Door Sports Hardtop
M3G
M = 400 - 2BBL 8 CYL
3 = 1973
G = St. Louis, MO, USA
210829   Sequence Number '210829'

Does the fender tag have a 26 or 28 on it.  Most likely 26.

There is no carb on the car so I can change the intake and add a 4bb? :Twocents:

Yes, you can.  Get one that will work for a 383.  It will bolt right up if the engine you have is a 400

Thanks for the help :popcrn: Pictures coming soon. :2thumbs:

You can, but keep in mind, the crank shaft and cam shaft are both different.

randy73

As ODZ stated, keep in mine you have a smog type cam designed for that 2bbl. You should get a cam to match or heck just redo the whole topend, like me.  :icon_smile_big:
