Fan belt question for guys with A/C

Hi Guys,

I've asked this kind of question with not much response so I thought I'd try again.

Could any big block owners with A/C please tell me what size fanbelts they are running. My belts constantly slip under accelleration and speeds above 60 mph. The belts we have here are 11A1510.

I'm not sure if sizes are the same over there, but basically the 11A is a 10-11 millimetre wide belt. For some reason my belts do not sit in the "V" groove on the alternator and would be ideal if a little narrower - say 9 mm.

That said, if anyone could please just tell me what size belts they are running it'd be appreciated.

Thanks,

Peter

P.S.....yes, I've adjusted them, used soap and tried belt grip....as well as new belts.

The dual belts need to be ordered as a "Matched set"  Two belts that are exactly the same length, if you just order two belts of the same size, you'll find that one of them is a slightly different length and no matter what you try you'll never get them both to tighten equally, resulting in slipping, squealing...

It's not the length - you can visibly seethat the belts are too wide for the alternator pulley. If I knew what size others were using at least I'd know what they are supposed to be. I imported the car 12 months ago, and have no reference here in Australia.
