Has anyone here actually seen this car in person? Just curious, because this would be the one and only exception that I have seen as far as an Early 500 that does not have the Y39 on the fender tag. IE the only car with a SPD before November that does not have this code on the fender tag.

Well I can only attest for 90 HEMI cars out of the 273 that I have information on.

69_500

Another question on the early cars, but does anyone know of any HEMI 500's that were not coded for teh W23 wheels before 138xxx? Because every car's broadcast sheet I have seen before this has been a W23 car.

my confusion was referring to his "566" Charger 500's were produced?

69_500

Well the 556 number comes from Galen as well as the 119 Hemi's. I was always told there was 112 Hemi's but I have yet to locate that many just yet. Getting close just not there yet.

This 500 was restord by Aged auto in Topeks Kansas about 12 years back , i sold the body shop some of the parts on this car. The hemi that is in this car is the numbers matching one along with the 727, both were badly damaged by the cam braking sending part of it out the back of the block. Part of a 440 was grafted in and welded up and the bellhousing was also welded., when they mated up the trans to block it wouldn t turn over so they had to grind down the welds when the Hemi runs it leaks oil out of the back. The car was used to pull a 57 Cheve to the drags back in the 70s when the Hemi broke a 318 was installed. One night on the way back to the farm the 500 hit a cow and itwas parked for years. The car was sold around 15 years ago to Dick Roach who owns a hardware store in Topeka , Roach i bet is long gon as he was up in years then.    Jay.

Do you know if they have a broadcast sheet for the car Jay? He mentions that it was a W23 car but that info would only be on the broadcast sheet or the window sticker. Had to tell if the one they post a picture of is a repro window sticker or original (or at least a copy of the correct one that is).

Aged auto, cam shot out the back, leaks, tow vehicle for a Chevy, hit a cow, Dick Roach.

You just can't make this stuff up!

If i rember correctly it was a W23 car but at the time of the resto repo wheels were not out and they never found any to put on. I have snapshots of the car when it was at the body shop someplace in my big pile of stuff. The bodyshop bill was 75K they did all of the resto on the 500 except the HEMI was sent to Larry Sheperd, that bill was $5200.00. The 500 sat outside for many years and the Hemi was in a barn.   NO BS   :icon_smile_big:
