A guy had this old truck not to far from me. It has the tower of power slant 6 w/ 3-speed and OD.

I want a rim and tire comb that looks nice, not sure what to get. :scratchchin: advice?

180 miles on the drivetrain, it's old and tired; smokes alittle, but that is the orignal paint. Still has the Ram head on the hood.  ;)

What do you think?

Bed isn't beat up, just rusted in the wheel wells.

Considering it isn't all rusted out, it looks pretty darn good.  Mine has the factory steel wheels and hubcaps.  Mine's an 89 with a v6 auto.  The wheels you have are off of a full sized van.  I thought about getting the wheels off of a 94 Ram.  the chrome ones.  I always thought they'd look good on one of these trucks.

BB1

Your right, he bought a van and that's why it has those ugly wheels now with no tread.

I might go hub cap, not sure yet. Anyone have some cool rims?

Wonder how much work it would take to put a 5.7 Hemi in it?  :scratchchin: :scratchchin:

My first truck was a short bed version of that truck. :2thumbs:
Nothing like trying to speed shift a four speed backing the leaning tower of power.  :smilielol:

The granny truck 4speed OD combined with a /6 in these is ridiculous. If you are a City-slicker, it'll be like driving a 2-speed stick powered by a hamster. I can't believe they even sold any of these back in the day.

That's a pretty decent pick up, especially for what you paid. It has potential!

I sold my own 83 Ram which was black and silver with NO RUST and NO DENTS (Yeah, even in the tailgate!) for $1200.00 with 318 auto. You got a pretty good deal. Now, find a nice 360-440 and run the OD 4-speed. Be one helluva truck.

I had the short bed version of it for a short while (right down to the faded hood).   The upside is the engine is bullet proof and transportation these days is at least $2K.  The downside is that it will get stuck in wet grass and it WILL NOT pull a 20ft 1977 SeaRay up a boatramp  :icon_smile_big:

You got a great deal!!  Looks good! :yesnod:

I say 15x8 cop wheels with trim rings and caps. There's a guy around here that has them, and it looks good. He got 60s all the way around and 255 in the front, 295 in the back or close to that.

Cool, I would like to see a picture of it.

I have the time to fix it up, a body shop owes me shop time, think I'll ask them to fix it up the rust and repaint it with some black accent stripes on the hood and below the trim.

The  S/6 stays with it, I just want to use it for light hauling and cruising.

Need a 2 barral manifold, it already has lots of torque.

Nice looking truck, maybe just a Mexican blanket for the seat.   ;)
