In my search for an R/T last year, I scrutinized those pictures on their website a couple of times. Other than the sucky aftermarket mirrors, it does looks very nice, but there must be a reason it hasn't sold in all this time. Also, it might be original paint, but I wouldn't quite call it a survivor.

  :yesnod: looks good ,
,  were there not a option for duel racing mirrors like that in 1970 ,  or looking  similar :scratchchin:  :popcrn: :shruggy:

Yes There was a G36 option which gave you chrome or color keyed painted racing mirrors depending on body color. Mid-year option so fairly rare.

I don't know about original paint... I didn't think they painted the trunk latch from the factory??

That car is v-e-r-y closely optioned to mine.  :drool5:
With the rarity of paint/options, and if it is a true survivor, it's definitely worth a good amount of money. I wonder why it hasn't sold, either.  :scratchchin:

Mark, what items are in question? I see some maintenance items replaced (rad cap, battery, M/C, etc), wrong spare tire, etc. Do you see anything else?  :scratchchin:

I've seen the trunk latch go both ways.  :yesnod:

Def a cool car!!! For those who like the petina of survivors in that condition/shape makes a great car to own and enjoy, but for myself,I could not leave it like that, would go full restore, therefore to much $$$$$ for me to drop on a car I would tear down and restore.
After seeing one like this restored,FC7,whtite top/stripe,beautiful car,Carlisle...E-Town.....can't remember where though ,would want to make a show car out of it !!!!! :shruggy: :nana:

So how might that occur at the factory then?  Would the car have been sent back through QC for paint in the  trunk?

That's really about it. It appears very clean, but to call it a survivor is a stretch. Obviously the engine has been out and I highly doubt that's he original interior. The wording in the ad made me suspicious, plus it's at a dealer & you very rarely have a dealer tell the truth.

they were asking 59 900 3weeks ago looks like they really want to sell

Most deallers just dont know either way unless theres a brochurse in front of them to read it to you which of course we all highly doubt he would have an original complete dealer brochurse.

I have seen the car in november.
It is partly repainted. Some of it was done more lately including the tailstrip (yes it is paintet white) and everything back. Trunk got resprayed inside.
The hood and cowl area was repaintet, too but a long time a go, looked very old and was done directly on the original paint.

engine has been repaintet.

Part of the interieur has been reniewed, the seats are not completly orignal anymore.

It ran but pretty poor. Needs at least a major tune up. Exhaust has major holes, haven't checked if it was still the original

As suspected, there are reasons it's been sitting around for months.

bill440rt

Yep, and much of that are things not visible in pictures or stated in the auction description.
