Valve setting question On cold 318

Got the fan off the front of my 66 318 poly and was wondering do I have to replace the stuff and run the engine hot to adjust valve lash?? The factory manual says to run it 5 min and set them .013 intake,.021 exhaust. I had them set at .010 intake,.020 exhaust (set when engine cold)but the 66 Chrysler manual says that's for 170-225 engines-2 questions,which do I set them at and can I set them w a cold engine??

You do not need the fan to run it but I would have the water pump turning & warm it to get the setting correct for the valves

Yeah I got it warmed and adjusted to .010 and .020- seems to be fine
