Special socket for 66 ball joints

Changing them out and I dont have the socket,id rather not spend 50.00+ and wait a week for one-anyone know of an alternative that would work so I dont buy something ill probably never use again?Ive tried the pipe wrench thing,nope.Havent ask the shop yet,wanted to check w the pros first....

I've only ever had luck with a ball joint socket.  They aren't in there by many threads but they are tight.

I was afraid of that,I've already got the control arm off so its hard as hell to hold it anyway much less tryin to maneuver a pipe wrench...guess its order time and a week setback...thanks

Yes, its much much harder when the control arm is off the car.

Many rental yards and some auto supplies rent such tools. If you know a few local Mopar freaks you might consider a group buy.

    If you have the control arm off, it might be worth your while to take it to a shop and have them replace it for a few bucks.

Got em in the trunk as we speak,I'm dropping them off tommorow to get switched.

   Just make sure they know what there doing. Wouldn't want some chevy guy try to press out your ball joint's.

After my 3/4" ratchet plus 6' of cheater pipe was not enough to budge them, I too removed the control arms from the car and stopped by a big rig garage. They chucked 'em up one at a time and replaced the ball joints with an enormous 1" impact. Ten minutes of labor and didn't even break a sweat. Guy smiled and said "No charge." .  I sent a couple of pizzas from the joint across the street. I hope they enjoyed them!
