69 Charger RT 440....

Oh geez, I finally did it, but thank goodness I did.  I bought a Painless wiring harness, and tore out my old one this weekend.  I'll post a more comprehensive explanation of the suprises I've found so far, but in the meantime...

The electrical connector that plugs onto the ignition switch is melted.  Plastic is melted, plus several layers of old electrical tape melted to it.   I hope this isn't a 500$ problem when I really just need one 50 cent piece of plastic...story of a charger owner's life...

I've tried the usual haunts - YearOne, Six Pack Performance, RT Specialties, EBay, etc.  No dice.

Anyone have hints on where I can find just this new connector?  All the usual haunts tell me I have to buy a whole new Dash harness to get it.  Does anyone have other options?

For anyone out there who has purchased a YO dash harness, is there any indications on the ignition switch connector of a part number, or manufacturer?

I'm afraid not Charger490 but thank you for the reply.  That looks to be the connector that plugs into the ignition/orange box in the engine bay.  I'm looking for the connector that is part of the dash harness, that plugs onto the back of ignition switch in the dash (where the key goes!).

I took a pic of my melted one I will try to post in a minute.

Here is the pics of the melted one I'm trying to replace.  Just one of several melted connections I've found (yikes)

I haven't seen any of those for sale although I'm sure some people here have one laying around.  I'll check my parts boxes tonight as well but I seriously doubt I have one.  Of course you don't 'have' to have one of those to make it work, you can hook up the wires seperately.  Heck you can even reheat the connector and reshape it if you'd want.
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

That's a great point, my backup plan will be to just to hook up the posts individually.   I'm not sure I'm skilled enough to remold and shape the connector.  Thanks!

I removed terminals with small screw driver no melting or damage to clips what area you in I will get a shipping cost and full total for you .The rest of the harness is good for parts no meltdowns on it
