I am looking at front disk brake kits for a 1970 Charger. Currently 4 wheel 11 inch power drums.

The Right stuff is local and I can pick it up. I used their rear kit on my 73. Anyone use their kit?

Do you need to change the booster?

Do any kits reuse the original spindle?  An offshore replacement spindle would worry me.

there are a number of brake conversion kits that use the drum spindle that you have , Scarebird , SSbc , Wilwood , Baer ETc , the booster should be fine but you need a disc brake master

I would like to go this route if I can find the A/E body spindles.

I saved the metering block off my 73 when I went to 4 wheel disk, do you think it would work on the 70 after I put the disk on the front?

The Aspen Volare Caravelle 5TH Ave spindle works fine as well

Thanks, don't know why my search did not find these. Found a 74 cuda in a yard with the parts still on it.

Those spindles don't have caliper brakets. I was thinking of taking the drilled/sloted 11 inch rotors ,calipers and Hawk pads off my 73 and giving them to my son for his 70. Would the caliper brakets of the 73 work on the A body spindles?   He would get a budget disk brake set up and I would upgrade to Wilwwod calipers/12 inch rotors/ AR brakets.

would this procedure still apply regarding spindles if you had power disc brakes up front from the factory?  I believe i have a MP front disc conversion kit, complete with new spindles, rotors, calipers and hoses.  Not sure if i still have all the seals from the kit but may have to  look into it.

Is removing the spindle difficult?  I've never been too sure of myself about taking front suspension parts apart, hate to go out and buy new rotors and whatever when i already have a good kit that will do a better job for daily use on the 69.

Removing the spindle is not difficult.  Just remember to back off your torsion bars first.  Than unbolt everything else.
