What is the correct length of the spacer between the alternator and the block on a big block car?

No ac.  How does the ac affect it?  (never had an ac older car)

Nacho-RT74

Pretty sure there is some small difference, because on non AC cars the alt brackets sits in front of the alt, and on A/C cars the alt bracket sits on back of the front "ear" of the alt. Alts got two spacers on their asembly and at least one of them must be diff because of that, taking the bracket thickness difference

Oh, ok.  I just mean the one that goes between the cylinder head and the alternator.

Nacho-RT74

rear one can be the one what takes the difference... remember the rear alt point got a a spacer inserted like a cotter pin what slides in or out to adjust the full assembly spacer lenght.

Hey, maybe I'm talking b**ls**t, but is something to think on. Thats why I think is better to specify if AC or not, just in case
