I was thinking that as well, especially after he said there's a mopar guy that works for him that would probably buy it. I have a feeling the price I told them they are going to add another grand or so too

I hope not, I hate when these tales spin off in that direction.

hopefully he will be a stand up guy and give the guy the info on how to reach you so the deal can be between the two of you.  :2thumbs:

That's what I wanted. I told him to have the guy call me if he wants it and left my cell phone number.

cant see the left motor mount bolt holes, but from my research it could be from a 440 dart ?? :shruggy:

ls23m9b303908  but i am probably wrong cause i dont know for sure the m code sequence

LS23M9B300***: GTS#406: ##Dean Registry##: "M" code owned by Ray B. is a B5 with black interior 440 GTS. Ray is the 4th owner and has owned this "M" since 2000. This GTS was sold new at Northland Dodge, traded in 1974 to owner #2, then sold to owner #3 in 1986. Starting out as a street racer in 1969, this GTS has spent most/all of its life as a race car.

Great news indeed!

Great.  just hope that the salesman does not want a cut of reuniting the engine with the original car now.

Isn't it sad, that occurred to me as well.

Hmm.   I wonder if a DC.com "lost and found" section for vin specific material might circumvent that situation.  :shruggy:

the # on the block is a partial vin,how do we know its from a charger & not lets say an R/T CORONET ?  :shruggy:

Hamtramck did not make Coronets for the 1969 model year.

There was only one car which exited the Hamtramck assembly plant in 1969 with 9B303908 on its engine/transmission.  They did not "re-use" sequence numbers on different models in the same model year.  The sequence number covered all models for that model year at that plant.  Had the plant stayed in production and had they continued with the same VIN syntax on the engine stamping, every 10 years there could be a car with the same driveline stamping, but that's about it.

If you go with the stealth heads would you part with the 915 casting heads that are on it?
Daddy ran whiskey in a big black dodge
bought it at an auction at the masons lodge,
Johnson County Sherriff painted on the side,
just shot a coat of primer then he looked inside,
well him and my uncle tore that engine down,
I still remember that rumblin' sound.....

MoparMotel

Yes I would probably part with the heads if I go aluminum... Just waiting to hear back from the charger guy got a call from Valenti that he got ahold of the guy and he wants the motor!!!
