They're very nice but honestly I don't see the problem with the original vacuum system, it works great!  If you don't care about originality and your system's dead then I'd probably go for that electrical one though.

Looks like you could do the same with a motor out of a vans rear wing windows, a lot cheaper. . .

those little motors are kinda weak....they break easy, and are not waterproof if put in the front of a car

Wow. . looks nice.  Not a bad price either. 

I was just talking to a couple friends this weekend about installing electric motors on the headlight doors since my entire set-up is missing.  I did not realize someone made a kit.

Well there fitted and there working great, easy to install,
i got the  new vacuum hose kit,  and all the gear to make it vacuum set up,but  since i welded up the holes in engine bay, fitting the vacuum set up was either going to be messy, or ugly with all the hoses,,
i am happy with the out come

I was looking at those in the year one catalouge.I hardly ever drive my car in the rain and they look rainproof enough to me.I may go that route also.

Someone told me our headlight doors have a tendency to freeze shut in the winter time, but I don't know.  Mine is not running yet to find out for sure.  Electric might be the way to go.

Winter time??? Up here in ottawa I would be a crazy man (crazyer man) to drive  the charger I,ll stick with the Ram for that season.

Let me clarify.  i have talked to people who have drove these cars originally, and yes, they drove them in the winter time.  Even in Canada.  Our cars have a tendency to ice up on the lower part of the grill and freeze the headlight doors shut.  Am I going to drive mine in the winter time in icy situations, probably not.  Scouts' motto  " Be Prepared"  And yes here in west central Missouri, we do experience icy situations. I don't think you would understand.

 I have never seen a set of vac headlight doors that don't work.  My 68 from highschool was a total deathtrap,  hacked by several kids before me...about the only thing that did work were the headlights lol... I'm sure there are plenty of people who will say they had problems but again...I have never witnessed a set that DONT work.  the ones on my current 68 are so strong that I can't manually force the doors open with the engine idling...not before breaking the door at least.

I don't know personally.  I haven't ever drove a 2nd gen charger yet.  The only thing I can think of is that the guy I talked to had a leak in a vacumn line or in canister.  But, he blamed icing issues as his excuse for taking his doors off.  I'll find out for myself when I get my car done.

Vacuum for me too.  As for the doors freezing, it won't matter what you use to power it, if they are frozen shut they are frozen shut and trying to choose a setup that will break through the frozen stuff is a good way to break other parts too.

Not planning on it,  but an empty parking lot can be awful tempting.   Of course, an empty parking lot can be fun all year round.   I have too many idiots on the road that can't even drive on a clean road let alone an icy one.
