Here is the latest - on the road - finally and as close to what it was in 72 that I can do (except the exhaust and the wheels).

Thanks to all for the advise and parts.

WOW!!  :drool5:

I'll admit I'm not an overly huge fan of 3rd Gen's, but man that thing is STUNNING!! Really something nice & different, glad to see you resisted the urge to swap in a big block or something. Very, VERY nicely done! Kudos!

Surprised to see a '489 8 3/4 under the car. I would have expected an 8 1/4 with the 318 in '72.

Also, is the Tuff Wheel original? That's not the horn cap I would have expected. I didn't think 72's got the padded cap.

Looks great and I like that style of Road Wheel better anyway.  ;)

Thanks guys.  The support here is and has always been great.
The rear end and the steering wheel are all original.  I guess there was mixing and matching at the factory.

As I've now jogged my memory, certain ratios got you automatically "upgraded" to a 8 3/4.
Standard ratio probably would have been a 2.71 in a 8 1/4.

I LOVE that car!  Btw, I had the same horn cap on my 1972 Rallye.  :2thumbs:

Tomorrow is promised to no one.......drive your Charger today.

Nice job! You turned a turd in to 14k gold. Some people would have swapped out the original drive train for something bigger. I give you credit for keeping it original.

Yes, keeping the original drivetrain is another HUGE plus on the restoration of this car.
